Veterans’ Memorial Park
25 Acres, as seen in the above Google Map.
Home of the Boulder City Urban Pond. The pond is 3 acres in size and 15 feet deep. It is stocked by the Nevada Department of Wildlife with Rainbow Trout and Rainbow Cutthroat Hybrid. You must have a fishing license to fish here, but on occasion, they have free fishing days. The pond also runs down a small stream to feed the Model Boat Pond. Boulder City Residents enjoy feeding the ducks and fishing, and on occasion, bring out Remote Control Boats to the lower pond.
Upon entering Veterans’ Memorial Park via the east entrance, you will see the main grassy area on the left. That field is used by the Boulder City Parks and Recreation as Soccer fields. Public events are also held in this area, such as, the Annual Trunk or Treat event. Trunk or Treat is a Boulder City favorite where, for a small fee, you can park your car around the field and hand out candy to “Trunk or Treaters”. There is also a contest for the best decorated vehicles. My family and I attend every year, It’s a great time, but candy tends to run out fast! Bring extra!
Proceeding along the main road South past the Soccer Fields, on the right you will find a Basket Ball court, Volley Ball Court, and four lighted Multi-Use Ball Fields. The annual National Night Out takes place at these Ball Fields.
Across from the Basket Ball Court is the Boulder City Splash Park. It is open during the summer months and closes from October thru May. It’s a great place to bring the family to cool off.
If you are into BMX, which many Boulder City residents are, you will love the BMX track!
By entering from the South, you will see the “See Spot Run” Dog Park on the right followed by the Boulder City Skate Park.
Scattered thought the park are Gazebos with picnic tables and barbecues. For a small fee you can reserve these Gazebos for your special events. There are also two restroom buildings strategically located for your urgent convenience.
